November 11 marked Canada’s Remembrance Day and the U.S. Veteran’s Day. We give thanks for those who served and for those who continue to serve today to insure our freedoms. We also give thanks for families who sacrifice and remain at home while their family member serves in harm’s way.
My father served in the U.S. army during the Korean War. I was born while he was deployed. We did not meet until I was almost a year old. My dad sacrificed to serve. My mom sacrificed during his time of service. My dad came home and we thank God. Our nations are eternally grateful for those who served and returned.
November 11 is also a sobering day as our nations remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives and we remember their families. These fallen heroes deserve the honor and respect of free people and grateful nations.
